I've never liked Sam Allardyce. That has nothing to do with anything though. First season promotion, 10th place followed by 13th place and as high as 4th now 6th. Frankly he's a genius or a fucking lucky bastard.
We'll know which one if we are on a losing streak from bad team selections....

WHY are we persevering with this man?
Whether you like Sam or not, he is showing all the signs of a guy who cannot handle the situation.
"Over-achievement is dangerous"? HE is the one giving all the self congratulatory interviews, and having his 'man of the people' photo taken in Nathan's etc etc... farcical.
This is not just about Zarate, although Mauro's comments suggest that the 'Sam situation' is not a figment of our biased imagination, and that all the other players must be aware of it.
So... how long before we lose players from the squad that the Sam arse lickers DO want to keep? Whose 'fault' will that be..?

It's true thoough. Look at Rodgers. Was on the edge until the big win recently. They massively over-achieved last year with two players they don't even have now. It look like it could cost Rodgers his job at one point.

Unfortunately for a club like West Ham we do not have the glamour and glitz to hold too many good players to sit on the bench.
Zarate is a victim of that. Clubs like West Ham have a bigger breaking point which is the point at which good players no longer refuse to be squad players. This is what has happened with Zarate.
I think Sam feels he may be a bit of a luxury player and that we have enough going forward without a player that sits in the hole trying to make things work. Nolan has a better work rate tracking back and defending but also offers a goal scoring threat.
That's the way it is. Zarate has had enough. Not a major deal for me.

i have a feeling that his insistence on playing nolan/carroll might be his downfall.
which is ridiculous of course.
however, IMO we have been a worse side with those two on the pitch. Downing has been pushed out wide as Sam goes back to
4-3-3.

Last year eh. So in 3 seasons hes sacrificed 2 games, one, a cup game when he was fighting against relegation. The other against the odds-on favourites for the title in a run of 3 games in 8 days.
6th in the table, already beaten convincingly last seasons champions and runners up. 30 goals scored.

I was there too. Not going to get 'upset' about that either.
Mitigating circumstances and all that (what would Arsenal have done in the same game without their three central defenders, captain and record signing striker, plus a cup semi to come).
Let's just agree to disagree but thankfully from my point of view, he's doing a good job and we are marching on.
If you are upset about a match lineup then who am I to change your mind. Game of opinions and I do respect your right to feel upset if you want.
